Adrian Esparza
Now and Then, 2010
Now and Then is the latest piece in Esparza’s series utilizing Mexican serapes. The majority of the works in this series are inspired by historic landscape paintings; this one references José María Velasco’s depiction of a Mexican vista in Hacienda de Chimalpa. The deconstructed serape is restrung in a new structure.
